What is Wedding Day: I Married Another Godfather about?
On her wedding day, Violet is abandoned by her fiancé, Frank, who leaves to stand in as the groom for her best friend, Olivia. Heartbroken and humiliated, Violet makes a bold decision. She invites Vincent, a powerful Godfather, to be her groom instead.
The rest of the setup, according to the official synopsis, follows two tracks. Frank slowly realises his mistake and tries to win Violet back, while Violet chooses the long-hidden love that truly cherishes her. That last phrase suggests Vincent’s feelings for her go back further than the wedding day, a classic slow-reveal device in mafia romance.
Characters named in the synopsis
- Violet – the bride left at the altar
- Frank – her fiancé, who walks out to marry someone else
- Olivia – Violet’s best friend
- Vincent – the powerful Godfather Violet marries instead
Why viewers are searching for it
Mafia romance and revenge hashtags have been busy on social media this October, and “jilted at the altar, marries someone more powerful” is one of the most dependable setups in the genre. The appeal is simple: the person who abandoned the heroine has to watch her be chosen, protected and valued by someone else, while the regret builds episode by episode.
If the “he will regret this” side of the story is what you enjoy, you will find more of it in our list of the best revenge short dramas this week, which includes another betrayed-fiancée story, Italian-American Heiress: The Fiancée He Underestimated.

Falling for the Untouchable Captain (ShortMax)
Another new ShortMax romance from the same week. Sloan’s college romance falls apart when she catches her hockey-star boyfriend, Dante, kissing another girl at a victory party. She ends it on the spot and leaves with Julian, the team’s distant, untouchable captain, and what starts as a reckless escape turns into jealousy, rumours, old secrets and a public scandal.
